research variables

Before i go any further with this project, it is my obligation to mention that the project was mentored by VCUQ professor Peter Martin.

Variables:

group 1: SPATIAL, TEMPORAL, INFORMATION, SOCIAL, POLITICAL, ECONOMIC, COGNITIVE, EMOTIONAL, BIOLOGICAL, TECHNOLOGICAL, CULTURAL (material), CULTURAL (immaterial), IDENTITY, SPIRITUAL, COMMUNICATION/ EXPRESSION

group 2: tactile variables: ORGANIZATION, QUALITY, CHANGE, DEPENDANCY, SOURCE/CAUSE, CONFLICT/COMPETITION, OPPORTUNITY, TRADITIONS

abstract variables: MEMORIES, BELIEFS, EXPECTATIONS, IDENTITIES, PURPOSES, PERCEPTIONS/ATTITUDES, BEHAVIORS, VALUES/MEANING

From these variables we developed a matrix that shows correlation among different aspects of perception as well as it shows relationship between different components of this research project.

the perceived value of design in qatar

A friend of mine, Fatma Al-Jaidah, and I have done a problem seeking, research based, project on the topic: “the perceived value of design in qatar”. We explored different aspects of individual’s perception including: emotional, cognitive, social, political, economic, biological and cultural (material&immaterial) aspects. I wish to share the information collected as well as the strategic plan on how to influence and change the existing perception.
